Labels & Stickers Application & Care: Do’s and Don’ts
Below is a concise summary of key guidelines for the correct application and care of our labels and stickers, ensuring their long-lasting durability and aesthetic appeal.
✅ DO’s:
1. Surface Preparation:
- Ensure the surface is clean, dry, and smooth.
- Apply labels to smooth, non-porous surfaces such as glass, plastic, coated metal, or lacquered wood.
- Before application, wipe the surface with a lightly water-dampened, soft cloth (do not use detergents).
- Thoroughly dry the surface before applying the label.
2. Label Application:
- Grip the edge of the label and slowly lift it from the backing paper, avoiding contact with the adhesive.
- Position one side of the label first, then gently press down with a soft cloth or squeegee.
- Push out any air bubbles during application.
3. Care & Cleaning:
- Wipe labelled surfaces only with a lightly water-dampened, soft cloth.
- Apply minimal pressure when wiping.
- Pat dry with a paper towel or allow to air-dry.
❌ DON’Ts:
1. Surface Preparation & Application:
- DO NOT apply to textured, oily, or damp areas.
- DO NOT use detergents when cleaning the surface before application.
- Do not use alcohol, solvents, or strong cleaning agents on the surface, as they can damage the ink.
- For the first 24 hours after application, DO NOT wet, rub, or press hard on the label, to allow the adhesive to fully bond.
2. Care & Cleaning:
- Never use chemical cleaners on labelled surfaces.
- Avoid scrubbing the labelled surface.
- DO NOT put labelled items in the dishwasher.
- Do not use alcohol, bleach, solvents, or harsh chemicals on labelled surfaces.
- Avoid exposure to excessive moisture or oils, as these may cause peeling or ink smudging.
